My great great grandfather and great great grandmother on my great grandfather's side of the family
MY GREAT GRANDFATHER AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER (my family tree was from her side of the family)
A FAMILY LEGEND we have is about my grandfather when he ran for precinct chairman in the late 1950's and won!! (woot woot!) The man he ran against however was one of the subordinates of George Parr nicknamed the Duke of Duvall County. He was the political boss of the county for decades he also was reponsible for Lyndon Johnson getting elected senator in 1948 Infamous Box 43 by manufacturing votes. Which just happened to be destroyed in a mysterious fire before an investigation could take place. Parr and his people contested my grandfather's election and he testified in court and was cross examined by Percy Foreman. Anyhow my grandfather ended up still getting elected, but soon left the county and politics because he realized how politics worked. Years later however George Parr committed suicide before he could be arrested on criminal charges. Its more of a family historic story of a great man in are family
